“Tantra like Yoga or Zen, is a path to enlightenment, which has it’s roots in India. It is nicknamed the science of ecstasy and focuses on heightening and prolonging the special awareness and rapport that exists between lovers during lovemaking. This view holds that the greatest source of energy in the universe is sexual, and places high value on ritualized intercourse. Sexual orgasm is seen as a cosmic and divine experience”…….from www.whitelotuseast.com
Similarities between Tantric Sex and the EROS Technique
There are a great many similarities between the EROS Technique and Tantric sex, the emphasis on sex as a giving experience, the unhurried approach to foreplay and sex, and the focus on extending the pleasure of lovemaking and not viewing orgasm as the end point of sex.
One of the most profound similarities is the need for a man to change his attitude to sex: if a man can get his pleasure from her orgasms, then he can experience the multiple pleasures of giving multiple orgasms to the woman in his life.
Differences between Tantric Sex and the EROS Technique
The EROS Technique is a structured methodology while Tantric sex is more philosophical, holistic approach. Tantric sex involves both partners visualising waves of energy passing between them and through them.
Also there’s an emphasis on energy points known as chakras, though which the couple connect. While these visualisations undoubtedly do enable a couple to reach great heights of connection and “one-ness” they do not play any part in the EROS Technique.
For many couples the Tantric approach would take too much time out of their already busy schedules. With the EROS Technique the man can give a woman 5 orgasms or more in 15 minutes of less, so she and he can still have great lovemaking, even if there’s not much time available between bed-time and sleep-time.
